With a year of ups and downs behind us all, we’re now ramping things up. Looking for new, come-as-you-are team members to join our fast-growing squad, responsible for rebuilding Virgin Australia’s loyalty program, currently 10 million members strong, and counting. That’s half of Australia!

Who we’re looking for :

The objective of the Digital Product Owner, Velocity App role is to work within Velocity’s Digital Experience and Product team to bring our digital strategy to life by building features, products and experiences that delight and engage prospective and existing Velocity members, maximise their value and directly drive revenue and profit growth.

Your manifesto is to meet and exceed expectations of internal and external stakeholders, setting a compelling product vision, owning product development and contributing to transformation projects across the Velocity business and wider Group.

 

What you’ll be doing :

Ever wanted to get given a project and be told to own it, run with it and make it yours? Well, here’s the gig you’ve been waiting for, where you’ll get the chance to do just that across a range of different projects (and teams) that only Velocity can offer :

  • Set a compelling vision and roadmap for the product and socialise across the business ;
  • Build and maintain the product backlog, engaging stakeholders across the business and leading prioritisation through value/effort assessments, financial modelling, and identification of customer experience improvements through research and analytics ;
  • Develop, measure and report on OKRs at a feature, product and team level ;
  • Showcase product capability and enablement through support of business initiatives ;
  • Work within an agile squad to develop new product features and enhancements through inception, discovery and delivery ;
  • Lead the capture and refinement of requirements and define release and sprint goals ;
  • Solve problems through design-led thinking and with the user at the core ;
  • Collaborate with digital squads and teams across Virgin Australia and the Velocity loyalty program to ensure a seamless experience for members and guests ;
  • Identify dependencies across digital product suite and downline systems and demonstrate ability to collaborate to align and resolve blocks ;
  • Apply a customer-centric approach driven by improvements to LTR/NPS scores and revenue performance for the group ;
  • Collaborate closely with business units in the broader organisation (Sales, Marketing, IT, Velocity, Contact Centres, Finance).

 

What we are looking for…

  • Graduate qualification in business, marketing, digital, technology or related disciplines ;
  • 3+ years’ experience of digital product ownership ;
  • Experience working within an agile delivery model e.g. Scrum ;
  • Experience using digital analytics tools (Google or Adobe Analytics) and working with customer insight and research teams to understand customer needs and behaviours ;
  • Experience in managing multiple projects through the entire lifecycle ;
  • Proven track record of delivery and ability to drive commercial outcomes ;
  • Growth mindset with a track record of defining and delivering solutions and continuous improvement ;
  • Attention to detail and an ability to identify issues, risks, root causes, develop mitigations and identify and ;
  • Track actions to closure ;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present to a wide array of stakeholders across the business ;
  • Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and influencing skills ;
  • Strong commercial acumen ;
  • Demonstrated ability to align objectives and priorities across agile squads ;
  • Demonstrated capacity for innovative thought and problem solving.

 

It is beneficial to have a…

  • Post-graduate qualification or industry-relevant certifications in marketing, digital, design or technology ;
  • Loyalty marketing experience ;
  • Experience using tools such as: Atlassian (Jira, Confluence, Trello); Figma; Miro ;
  • Experience with the Adobe Experience Cloud (AEM, Target, Analytics) and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, XD, InDesign)   ;
  • Experience working as a Business Analyst ;
  • Knowledge of airline loyalty/frequent flyer industries.
