The objective of the Aircraft Records Archivist role is to to analyze & verify aircraft records including source of such records for authenticity in accordance with the appropriate regulations whether they be FAA, EASA, or CASA or other.

Ensure adequate and appropriate records are maintained for all work performed on the Virgin Australia fleet of aircraft and are recorded in accordance with the Civil Aviation regulations.

To store, archive and retrieve electronic and physical aircraft records in accordance with CASA regulations, lessor’s requirements, and company policy. These records to be made readily available to Virgin Australia approved personnel, lessors (owners of the aircraft), and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)

 

Key responsibilities :

  • Complete mandatory training applicable to the role (including Safety, Security, Resilience and, Health and Wellbeing) – Participate in the SMS and SeMS by identifying and reporting hazards to the operation ;
  • Electronic Physical filing and retrieval of authorized release certificates. Filing of maintenance, utilization documentation received from domestic and international ports. Filing of associated documentations including Special Flight Permits, Permitted Unserviceability documentation, and in-house ancillary documents ;
  • Receive, check and file hard and soft copy heavy maintenance check packs Communicate with Heavy Maintenance MRO on gaps in check packs ;
  • Preparation of records for off-site storage. Recall of records from offsite storage for End of Lease activities and ad hoc requests. Maintain integrity of document repository to meet regulatory requirements for storage and retrieval of aircraft records

 

What we’re looking for :

  • A sound knowledge of the functions of an airline engineering department including the following sections aircraft heavy and line maintenance planning, aircraft system of maintenance, stores inspection procedures ;
  • 2 years’ experience in an engineering records department, or other high-volume records environment ;
  • Advanced computer and data analysis skills ;
  • Detailed knowledge of the regulations and standards applicable to aircraft maintenance records AND Computer-based maintenance management systems.
