CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR THE FEASIBILITY STUDIES AND DETAILED ENGINEERING DESIGNS OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE INFRASTRUCTURE AT FEIRA IN LUANGWA DISTRICT

The Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Chinsali – Nakonde Road Rehabilitation Project (North – South Corridor), and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the Contract for Consultancy Services for the Feasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering Designs of the Construction of Bridge Infrastructure at Feira in Luangwa District.

The services included under this assignment are to conduct Feasibility Studies (Phase I) and Detailed Engineering Designs (Phase II) of construction of bridge infrastructure at Feira, thus establishing crossing infrastructure that provides efficient, cost-effective and fully integrated systems and operations, meeting the users’ needs in a technically, environmentally and economically sustainable way. The key project activities shall include but not be limited to the quantification of the anticipated increase in regional integration and trade and effects on existing transport corridors that will result out of the establishment of the crossing infrastructure. The project has the possibility of connecting Zambia to either Zimbabwe, across the Zambezi River, or Mozambique, across the Luangwa River.

The Road Development Agency now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short -list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” [May 2008 Edition revised in July 2012], which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
