Program Coordinator (Chipinge) Job Description :
Dimensions of Role :
Reporting to the Head of Office the incumbent is responsible for providing technical support, quality, timely implementation and monitoring of project deliverables for the “Access to Quality Education through Improved and Inclusive Learning Environments” ensuring alignment with project outcomes, country strategy and design.
Accountabilities :
- Developing Project Outlines (POs), monthly/quarterly/annual work-plans and facilitate the implementation of the project to ensure that all the objectives of the project are achieved in a timely fashion ;
- Conducting community mobilization to ensure that communities are well versed in the goals, objectives and activities of the project ;
- Organizing and delivering project trainings, meetings and capacity building sessions with project staff, communities and stakeholders ;
- Liaising and maintaining regular communication with all partners and stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project for quality and effective project implementation ;
- Ensuring that all relevant ministries and the responsible authorities are involved in quality control of the construction of classroom blocks, alternative boarding and wash facilities in accordance with set standards ;
- Taking an active role in project monitoring and evaluation in close liaison with the Monitoring & Evaluation team ;
- Monitoring and reviewing project budget expenditure ;
- Preparing project monthly, quarterly and completion reports in a timely manner and in line with corporate and donor requirements as articulated in the signed Funds Agreement Document (FAD) .
Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming :
Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to: Gender equality mainstreaming, Child Protection Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities.
Knowledge :
- A degree in Education or related discipline from a recognized institute (preferably in primary and/or non-formal education methods) ;
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role in an NGO environment working in education programs ;
- Demonstrable experience in project proposal writing, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation ;
- Demonstrable ability to network with key community development stakeholders ;
- A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s license .

- Ability to coordinate a holistic integrated children’s learning program ;
