Malaria Consortium is recruiting for a Programme Manager to join our team in Juba South Sudan.
Job purpose
The Programme Manager is the focal person responsible for ensuring delivery of Malaria Consortium’s BHI commitments in ESPH lot 5 in Uppernile and Lot 7 in Jonglei.The Programme Manager will be responsible for the technical assistance and monitoring of day-to-day programme activities including making regular visits to field locations and supervising the BHI programme Managers. They will also represent the organisation at appropriate coordination forums.
The successful candidate will have :
Qualification and experience :
Essential
- Basic degree in Medicine ;
- Master’s degree in project management or public health ;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in public health project management with demonstrated experience managing large teams and multiple projects in sub-Saharan Africa, in resource limited contexts ;
- Experience managing large scale projects with multiple teams and playing a significant role in managing the HR and logistics elements of these projects ;
- Experience in budget management and monitoring expenditure ;
- Experience writing high quality and detailed project reports ;
- Experience in working in insecure places and managing security sensitive situations.
Desirable : Previous experience working in South Sudan
Work-based skills :
Essential :
- Excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills ;
- Ability to work in a challenging environment with few support services ;
- Excellent organisational skills ;
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English ;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel ;
- Willingness to work in a remote area where there are common incidences of insecurity and basic amenities ;
- Patience and flexibility when working with people ;
- Knowledge in basic security & communications training.
