Purpose :

With the expanded role of the PMRE section in 2021 to support the strengthening of knowledge management in the office, as well as the donor reporting quality assurance process, this temporary appointment will fill a critical gap in the PMRE section. This is in addition to the provision of ongoing support to the cross cutting planning and monitoring function in the office.

 

Main Tasks and responsibilities :

The main tasks and responsibilities fall under 3 main areas, however the staff member may be called upon to support across any of the PMRE work area pillars outside of this primary focus:

1) Donor Reporting :

  • Undertake regular updates to the donor reports schedule and ensure communication to the section on upcoming reports ;
  • Quality assure incoming donor reports ;
  • Ensure timely submission of donor reports following the established SoP ;
  • Build capacity of staff in donor reporting including periodic reviews of SoPs and templates.

2) Knowledge Management :

  • Support the on-going roll-out of the knowledge management platform including updating document repositories, tagging and site design ;
  • Act as a super user for the Enterprise Content Management Platform including on-going capacity building of staff and troubleshooting where relevant.

3) Planning and Monitoring :

  • Support mid and end year reviews including report elaboration ;
  • Support corporate reporting including mid and end year reports (summary note and RAM) ;
  • Provide inputs into the SACO monitoring plan ;
  • Assist in reviews of work plans.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education :

  • First University degree/Bachelors in social sciences, international development, development planning, public administration or a related technical field ;
  • Masters Degree in relevant field – i.e. Monitoring and Evaluation, Demography and Populations Studies, Political Science and Development etc. is an advantage.

Experience :

  • A minimum of 1-year progressive professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, reports and / or knowledge management is required however 2-3 years is preferable ;
  • Familiarity with donor reporting requirements, knowledge management systems and UN planning and monitoring processes would be an asset ;
  • Experience working in international organizations specifically the UN is preferred.

Language :

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal is required ;
  • Knowledge of another official UN language or the local language is an asset.
