The Government of Namibia through the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR) has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Namibia Agricultural Mechanization and Seed Improvement Project (NAMSIP) and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Consulting Services for the Agricultural Engineer – Seed Processing.
The services included under this assignment are: (i) To assist with the design and construction of the seed processing plants; and (ii) To capacitate and empower the MAWLR as the national seed system administration to deliver training in maintenance and operation of the seed processing plants to the recipients for the effective and efficient operation of the plants. The duration of the assignment is 12 months, and the services are expected to commence in May 2022.
The Consultant must have the following qualifications and competencies: (i) Master’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering or related field with 6 years relevant post qualification experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with 10 years relevant post qualification experience;(ii)Specific experience in the design and or construction and or maintenance of seed processing plants;(iii) Specific experience in Capacity Building or Training; (iv) Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office and (vii) Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills.
The MAWLR now invites eligible individual consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (CVs, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, demonstration of appropriate skills etc.).
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Policy of Bank Group Funded Operations 2015”, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org. A shortlist of 3 to 6 Consultants will be developed using the following criteria;
