• The African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: Expert – Events Management and Translation ;

• The objective will be to provide consulting services in the area of event Management and translation. 

The consultant duties will include the following : 

A – Events Management : 

• Prepare the specifications of the various events, identify all the resources needed for their achievements and develop implementation plans ;
• Identify the appropriate service suppliers in coordination with the Regional Focal Points in accordance with the rules and procedures of the Trustee ;
• Collect and qualify logistical needs related to event management ;
• Supervise the different suppliers: suppliers, hotels, event agencies, etc. ;
• Contribute to the organization of the timetable for each event ;
• Develop dashboards and logistics tracking for each event ;
• Ensure internal communication within the IDU on the progress of the event ;
• Ensure the liaison amongst various co-organizers of the event as needed ;
• Supervise the operation during each event: setting up of the reception system, managing the service providers, coordinating the teams ;
• Coordinate the distribution list of invitations ;
• Supervise and coordinate the transfers and accommodation of participants to the various events ;
• Ensure compliance with the rules and procedures of the Trustee when organizing events ;
• Contribute to the preparation of formal reports of the various events.

B – Translation :

• Translate and / or revise the documents produced by the IDU in the other language (French – English, English – French) ;
• Review the documents provided in a given language ;
• Respect the style (British English or American English) and the form of the document provided when translating into the other language ;
• Any additional tasks requested by the IDU Head.

Required skills and qualifications : 

• A Master degree in Communication and / or Translation ;
• A minimum of eight (8) years of working experience of which at least 5 years in events management and / or translation ;
• Proven creativity, good relationship and editorial talent ;
• Computer literacy, good command of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet-related applications ;
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, under pressure and handle politically and culturally sensitive issues ;
• The candidate must be a citizen of an African State ;
• Fluent in French and English, knowledge of additional language(s) will be an asset. 

• The AREI Independent Delivery Unit (IDU) invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (CV, documents, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.) ; 

• The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedures shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist ; 

• The duration of services is twelve (12) months, and the estimated starting date is 01 June 2022 ; 

• Interested Individual Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during the Bank’s working hours: from 08:00 to 17:00 hours, Abidjan Local Time ; 

• Expressions of interest must be received by email at the address below no later than Friday, 06 May 2022 at 17:00 hours, Abidjan local time and specifically mentioning “Expression of Interest – Expert on event Management and Translation”.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SHORT LIST :

A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume.
