The African Development Bank (AfdBD) hereby invites Consulting Firms to indicate their interest in the following Assignment : ASSESSMENT OF THE BANK’S COMPLIANCE WITH EUROPEAN DATA PROTECTION LAW (GDPR).
The European Data Protection law (GDPR) was established to ensure that entities that hold personal private information have the proper mechanisms and controls in place to protect their data.
In that regard, the Bank’s intends to engage the services of a consulting firm to perform the required assessment and provide a set of recommendations to ensure Bank’s compliance.
The scope will cover full assessment to evaluate the Bank’s position and compliance with European Data Protection law (GDPR). The consultant (s) duties include the following main tasks :
- Assessment of the Bank’s compliance :
- Identify whether GDPR applies to the Bank ;
- Carry out a full analysis to assess the Bank’s compliance with GDPR ;
- Identify GDPR requirements relevant to the Bank ;
- Carry out a risk analysis of identified compliance gaps.
- Recommendations :
Provide recommendations to ensure the Bank’s compliance with GDPR
Deliverables :
The expected deliverable is a final report containing :
- List of GDPR requirements that are relevant to AfDB.
- Gap analysis showing the Bank’s readiness and compliance concerning GDPR.
- Risk analysis report of identified GDPR compliance gaps.
- Recommendations on the way forward to improve the Bank’s data management and protection.
Experience of the firm and Staff :
- The firm should have proven experience in International data protection laws with at least three (03) references in similar assignments ;
- The firm should have previous experience with multilateral development institutions geographically located out of the EU ;
- The proposed consultants should have the following qualifications and skills ;
- Proven Experience in conducting similar analysis. o Risks assessment skills ;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills o Excellent analytical skills ;
- Good presentation skills ;
- Proficiency in English/French with good knowledge of the other language.
The Corporate IT Services Department (CHIS) invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested eligible Consulting Firms or associations of Consulting Firms shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to provide the services (documentation, references for similar services, experience in comparable Assignments, availability of qualified staff, etc.).
The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Rules and Procedure for the Use of Corporate Consultants. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consulting Firm does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include it in the shortlist.
The duration of the assignment is expected for 03 months.
