Context :
The Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (FDRE) has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of the Ethiopia Integrated Transport Program Phase I: Sodo – Sawla Road Upgrading Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Women Entrepreneurial Development.
The services included under this project are develop and deliver trainings and tools including basic facilities to women and other vulnerable people affected by the project to enhance their skills and opportunities in entrepreneurial activities and thereby improve their wellbeing. The firm shall undertake women economic empowerment program to support women take advantage of the enhanced road access to produce and market their products more efficiently. The intervention is to be implemented along the two lots of the Sodo – Sawla Road stretching 160 Kms for a period of three years. Furthermore, the service includes the deployment of three key experts on the field to the project site with technical backstopping and oversight to the site level personnel.
The Ethiopian Roads Authority, acting for the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia as the Executing Agency and hereinafter referred to as “the Employer”, now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.
Eligibility criteria :
Establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Rules and Procedures for the use of Consultants” May 2008 Edition, Revised July 2012, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
