REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST (CONSULTING FIRM – INTERNATIONAL)
FOR THE CREATION OF THE AFRICA NDC HUB WEBSITE
The Climate Change and Green Growth Department (PECG)’s broad objectives focus on mainstreaming climate change and green growth into Bank’s High 5 priorities, mobilizing climate finance and leading the Bank-wide efforts to minimize and reverse the effects of climate change on the continent. The Department consists of two main divisions: (i) the Climate and Green Growth Division, and (ii) the Environment and Climate Finance Division. The Department also hosts the ClimDev Special Fund and the African Climate Change Fund.
The Africa Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) Hub is a platform of 18 partner institutions that was created in 2018 to serve as a resource pool to support African countries in the successful implementation of their climate strategies under the Paris Agreement. The Bank, which hosts the Africa NDC Hub secretariat in the Department of Climate Change and Green Growth, provides technical assistance to regional member countries to support the development of their long-term low-carbon strategies and the revisions of their NDC commitments.
In order to enhance the online presence of the African NDC Hub and to deliver a digital collaborative platform for its partners, the Bank’s Climate Change and Green Growth Department is aiming to develop and launch the official Africa NDC Hub website. The website will be user-friendly and interactive to provide a convenient and reliable interface for the Hub partners and the general public.
A consulting firm will be recruited to perform this assignment and ensure that the Africa NDC Hub website will meet the standards of the Bank. The services shall be required for a period of six months, beginning in July 2020 up to January 2021.
The Coordinator of the Africa NDC Hub secretariat, Climate Change and Green Growth Department of the African Development Bank, invites International Consulting firms to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services based on past relevant experience, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, with qualified experts.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015 available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
