Procurement for Construction Works for Malaba Water and Sanitation System

 

 

Lot 1 – Water Supply Works

This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online on 31st March 2017 ;

The Government of Kenya has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various currencies towards the cost of Kenya Towns Sustainable Water Supply and Sanitation Program. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for construction of Malaba Water and Sanitation System; Lot 1 – Water Supply Works ;

The Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency (On behalf of Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Agency) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the execution of the above project ;

The scope of works includes but not limited to the following :

  1. New Gravity Intake about 11 km ;
  2. New Raw Water Gravity Pipe: DN500, 11.5km ;
  3. New Horizontal Water Treatment Plant : 6,000 m3/d ;
  4. Rehabilitation of existing Water Treatment Plant: 2,150m3/d ;
  5. Rehabilitation of staff houses ;
  6. Rehabilitation of Backwash tank:100 m3 and New Backwash tank 225 m3 ;
  7. Rehabilitation pipe: DN250-350 (24.5km), DN100-250(10km), DN 50-150(20km) ;
  8. New pipe: DN 75-150, 30km ;
  9. Rehabilitation storage tanks 6EA and New storage tank 225 m3 ;
  10. New Water Kiosks.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of The Chief Executive Officer, Rift Valley Water

Works Development Agency, Maji Plaza, Prisons Road, and P.O. Box 2451-20100 Nakuru, Kenya , Tel +254 718 313 557 during office hours (8.00am to 5.00pm East African Time) on week days except public holidays.

A complete set of bidding documents in soft copy (CD) may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the above and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 1,000 (Kenya Shillings One Thousand Only).

The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document: Procurement of Works.

Bidders are invited for a Pre-bid Meeting and Site Visit which will take place at

Amagoro Water Office in Amagoro Town along the Bungoma-Malaba Highway on 17th October, 2019 at 9.00a.m (East African Time).

Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 00pm East African Time on 22nd November, 2019 and must be accompanied by a security (Unconditional Bank Guarantee) of KES 5,000,000 (Kenya Shillings Five Million Only) for Lot 1 or equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency with a bid validity period of 120 days from bid submission date.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 05pm East African Time on 22nd November, 2019 at the offices of :
