Consultancy for Development of a web-based Regional Disaster Risk Reduction Portal for SADC Region

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) Secretariat has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the Southern African Regional Climate Information Services for Disaster Resilience Development (SARCIS-DR) Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for Consultancy for Development of a web-based Regional Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Portal for SADC Region.

As part of implementation of SARCIS-DR in SADC, the Climate Services Centre (CSC) is recruiting an International Short Term Expert to develop the DRR portal.

The objective of the consultancy is to develop a web-based SADC Regional Risk Reduction Platform to be hosted on SADC CSC website for increased knowledge of risk exposure to hazards such as floods, wild fires, heavy rain, wind, tropical cyclone, drought, etc.

The SADC Secretariat now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (description of similar assignments and experience in the region).

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s Procurement Framework, dated October 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by Thursday 3 October 2019 at 14h00 hours Botswana time and mention Consultancy for Development of a web-based Regional
