REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR AN INDIVIDUAL CONSULTANT TO SUPPORT PROJECT DEVELOPMENT AND COORDINATION FOR THE CODING FOR EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM

  1. The African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: Individual Consultant to Support Project Development and Coordination for the Coding For Employment Program ; 
  1. Brief description of the assignment: The Bank’s Human Capital, Youth and Skills Development Department (AHHD) plays a key role in achieving the Bank’s High 5 strategic priorities, in particular Improving the Quality of Life of People in Africa. The Department’s Education and Skills Development Division (AHHD1) focuses on scaling up the Bank’s support to education, human capital and skills development. The AHHD1 Division leads several special initiatives that aim to strengthen vocational and higher education systems. It also works to enhance education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, entrepreneurship and innovation, with the ultimate goal of increasing access to decent jobs for young Africans. AHHD1 is seeking an individual international consultant to support the project development activities, partnership engagement, resource mobilization and the implementation of the Coding for Employment flagship program as part of the Education and Skills agenda within the Bank’s Regional Member Countries (RMCs) ; 
  1. The AHHD1 Division invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (documents, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.) ; 
  1. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedure shall be in conformity with the Bank’s Procurement Policy for Recruitment of Corporate Consultants. Please, note that interest expressed by a consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist ; 
  1. The estimated duration of services is 12 months, and the estimated starting date is 30th May 2022 ;
  1. Interested Individual Consultants may obtain further information at the address below during the Bank’s working hours: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm GMT ; 
  1. Expressions of interest must be received at the email address below no later than April 27th, 2022, at 11:59 PM GMT and specifically mentioning Individual Consultant for Coding for Employment program.

ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SHORT LIST :

  1. A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume :
General understanding of the task to be performed as described in the40%
