REQUEST FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
(CONSULTING SERVICES – FIRMS)
The Government of the Republic of Uganda has received financing from the African Development Fund towards the cost of the Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme (AVCP) – Project 1 and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this loan to payments under the contract for Consultancy Services for: Design Review and Construction Supervision of Western Uganda Regional Animal Disease Control Centre – Nshaara Stock Farm Kiruhura District.
The services included under this project are consultancy services for Design Review and Construction Supervision of Western Uganda Regional Animal Disease Control Centre – Nshaara Stock Farm Kiruhura District. The specific project objective is to: use appropriate procedures to undertake investigations, development of spatial plans for the site, preliminary & detail designs and tender documents preparation as well as contract management and supervision of works.
The Agricultural Value Chain Development Programme (AVCP) Project 1 through the production and productivity enhancement & infrastructure components will facilitate construction and equipping of animal diseases control centres in Western & Northern Uganda.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested Firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, e.t.c.) and specifically :
- The firm must have proven similar experience from previous clients in the same field of expertise (provide detailed information on each of the similar assignments in form of completion certificates/client’s references) ;
- The firm must have worked on design review and/or preparation of designs, tender documents and supervision of construction for instituitional buildings (health facilities, workshops, warehouses, laboratories, etc.,) in the past Five (5No.) years. Experience in the East Africa Region and particularly in Uganda will be an added advantage ;
- The firm must provide evidence of skills among staff of: construction projects management, structural engineering, architecture, environment protection, sustainable sanitation, electricity & mechanical works.
Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the Procurement Policy for Bank Group Funded Operations, October 2015 which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org.
