GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE (GPN)
- The Arab Republic of Egypt has received a Grant from the African Development Bank to finance the Emergency Humanitarian Relief Assistance Amidst CoVID-19 Outbreak ;
- The principal objectives of this project is to support the Egyptian government – to extend social safety nets and ensure food security of the most adversely affected groups by the CoVID-19 outbreak in Egypt, including informal sector workers who lost their livelihoods, and people with limited mobility.
The project will be implemented by the Ministry of Social Solidarity. The Ministry shall select the project beneficiaries from its social protection database that contains more than 30 million vulnerable citizens based on an eligibility criterion set for this project.
- The project components are :
- Component 1 : Provision of emergency food. This component would finance delivery of basic food supplies to 37,000 persons.A basic package of food rations would be procured, prepared and delivered by the government through the Egyptian Food Bank ;
- Component 2 : Project Management. An external independent auditor will be recruited to audit the Financial Statements of the project, prepare an audit report including the management letter, to be submitted to the Bank no later than six months from June 29, 2022, the Closing Date of the operation.
