1. The African Development Bank hereby invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in the following Assignment: “SAP SOLUTION ARCHITECT CONSULTANT”.
2. The SAP system plays a central role for AfDB, as it is the platform that automates most of core functions. In 2018, the phased transformation of the SAP platform was launched with the conversion to S4 Hana. Following the successful completion of the first phase, the Bank initiated the second phase which focuses on developing an integrated IT platform to provide end-to-end tracking of all project management activities and documents as well as enable borrowers and partners to perform transactions and access information.
3. The main goal of this consultancy is to provide advisory services on the implementation of the SAP transformation and more specifically on the second phase project. In this regard, the Bank is seeking the services of a solution architect who will act as technical advisor for all project activities taking into consideration the project quality objectives.

The consultant will undertake the following duties

• Work directly with the PMO, the rest of the IT team and the Director SNBT to ensure soundness of solutions proposed by SAP.

• Interact with the SAP Implementation Architect on behalf of the Bank.

• Generate convincing and substantiated technology and architecture recommendations.

• Identify and highlight key integration points with third party systems.

• Perform problem analysis (identify root causes, outline resolution options, and recommend appropriate actions to resolve problems).

• Work closely with the Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure the execution of plans corresponds with what is being promised.

4. REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least 20 years’ experience in SAP ABAP Workbench and architecture topics.
• Relevant experience with SAP HANA implementations
• Excellent knowledge of SAP configuration and development methods and disciplines
• Experience of working in a large and complex organization
• Full end-to-end understanding of SAP implementations, development, quality and production environments in SAP related competencies.
• Understanding of relational databases, data storage, and SQL concepts. Understanding of data structures and data objects.
• Certification in SAP CML is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.

5. The Business Transformation Department (SNBT) invites Individual Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the above-described services. Interested Consultants shall provide information on their qualifications and experience demonstrating their ability to undertake this Assignment (CV, reference to similar services, experience in similar assignments, etc.).
6. The eligibility criteria, the establishment of a short list and the selection procedures shall be in conformity with the Bank’s procedures for the acquisition of consulting services funded by the administrative or capital expenditure. Please, note that interest expressed by a Consultant does not imply any obligation on the part of the Bank to include him/her in the shortlist.
7. The assignment period is expected for one (01) year, renewable if required. The tentative start date is 15 February 2024.
8. The work will be carried on remotely.

11. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE SHORT LIST

A shortlist of three to six individual consultants will be established at the end the request of expressions of interest. The consultants on the shortlist will be judged on the following criteria on the basis of their updated resume.
