MISSION :

Reporting directly to the CFO of Baobab+ Group, you will be responsible for building and executing a long term financial plan to ensure adequate funding of the company, managing relations with investors and monitoring the grants application process.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:

Contribute to the management of the financing of our activities

  • Together with the Group CFO, define Baobab+ Group’s funding strategy and ensure its implementation across all its entities (Holding company and subsidiaries) ;
  • Develop a financial model to build the 5-year business plan of the company including the 3 main financial statements of each entity, a projection of capital needs, sensitivity analysis and valuation of the company ;
  • In coordination with the Group CFO, seek funding, negotiate financial terms with potential investors and review loan documentation ;
  • Support the subsidiaries in financing matters and provide assistance for the preparation of information and financial models required by investors ;
  • Support the management of the Group’s financial risks (funding risk, liquidity risk, currency risk), including the ongoing development of the financial risk management framework ;
  • Provide updated information related to funding (debt, equity and grants) to the Group FP&A manager in order to forecast cash flows adequately and prevent any cash shortfall.

Manage Due diligence process & Investors reporting

  • Gather the documentation shared during the due diligence process with any potential investors (preparation of data room) ;
  • Prepare institutional and financial reporting (including covenants calculation) for all investors at Baobab+ Holding level based on the financial statements of the company in autonomy and on a timely basis ;
  • Support the subsidiaries in the preparation of their investor reporting when necessary ;
  • Coordinate with other departments the completion of extra financial documentation ;
  • Proactively answer to any ad hoc requests from investors.

Monitor the grant application process

  • Seek and identify potential grant funding opportunities and lead on relevant applications ;
  • Coordinate the grant applications by working closely with the various departments at Group and subsidiaries’ level and with any consultants in charge of the application writing ;
  • Support the subsidiaries’ Finance teams in the preparation of any financial information required in the grant applications, based on the company’s financial statements, budgets and forecasts ;
  • Coordinate with the subsidiaries to prepare the financial and extra-financial reporting required by the grant providers ;
  • Ensure that payments and expenditure are adequately documented by the subsidiaries’ Finance teams.

Ad hoc missions

  • Analyze prospective investments to determine their viability and risk ;
  • Respond to internal audit requests related to funding, cash management and grants.

PROFILE :

The successful candidate must have :

  • Master’s degree and 5+ years working experience in Finance, with a previous experience in asset management, banking, in Transactions at a Big4 advisory firm or at a Corporate Finance position ;
  • Sound knowledge of financing instruments and process and strong understanding of corporate finance concepts ;
  • Highly numerate with strong attention to detail ;
  • Strong analytical skills, autonomy, sense of initiative and strength of proposal ;
  • Team player with the ability to build relationships at all levels ;
  • Moral integrity ;
  • Excellent command of Excel (VBA, Power Query, Power Pivot) and proficiency on PowerPoint ;
  • Very good level of English (oral and writing) — Fluency in French is a plus ;
  • Knowledge of the PAYG sector in Africa is a plus.
