TRANSFORMING RURAL LIVELIHOODS IN WESTERN ZAMBIA NATIONAL RURAL WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROGRAM PHASE II

TENDER NO. MWDS/AfDB/RWSSP/W/02/21 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITATION FACILITIES IN RURAL SCHOOLS AND RURAL HEALTH CENTRE IN WESTERN PROVINCE – 2 LOTS.

1. The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received funding from the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Initiative Trust Fund (RWSSI – TF) and the OPEC Funds for International Development (OFID) to finance part of the National Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Program Phase II in Western Province and intends to use some of these funds for the construction of 154 Sanitation Facilities in rural schools and health centers in Western Province.

The Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the construction of 154 Sanitation Facilities in rural schools and health centers in Western Province as follows :

Site Visits conducted by the Employer shall take place, at the following dates, times and places :

LOT 1

Date: 20^th October, 2021 to 27^th October, 2021

Time: 08:30 Hours to 17:00 Hours

Places: Lot 1: Districts: Kaoma, Limulunga Lukulu, Mitete, Nalolo, Kalabo, and Sikongo

LOT 2

Date: 28^th October 2021 to 3^rd November, 2021

Time: 08:30 Hours to 17:00 Hours

Places Lot 2: Districts: Mongu, Senanga, Mwandi, Mulobezi, Sesheke, Sioma and Shangombo.

A Pre-Bid meeting shall take place at the following date, time and place:

Date: 4^th November, 2021

Time: 09:00 Hours

Place: Provincial Administration Conference Hall

2. Bidders are allowed to bid on Lot 1 or Lot 2 or both. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation 1^st Floor, Mukuba Pension House, Dedan Kimathi Avenue, Lusaka, Zambia and inspect the Bidding Documents at this address from 08:00 hours to 12:00 hours and 14:00 hours to 17:00 hours, local time, Monday to Friday. 3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB) procedures specified in the African Development Bank Group’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works, May 2008 Edition (revised 2012) and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines ;

4. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English can be obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee of K1,000.00 or its equivalent in any freely convertible currency of the prevailing bank of Zambia exchange rate, in cash or by Bank certified cheque per bid at the address given below during office hours between 08:00 hours to 13:00 hours and 14:00 hours to 17:00 hours Local Time ;

5. Sealed Bids clearly marked ‘‘Construction of 154 Sanitation Facilities in Rural Schools and Health Centers in Western Province” should be deposited in the Tender Box at Ministry of Water Development and Sanitation 3rd Floor, Mukuba Pension House, Dedan Kimathi Avenue, Lusaka, Zambia on or before 11^th November, 2021 at 10:30hrs local time. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend on 11^th November, 2021 ;

6. The Bids must be accompanied by a bid security in form of a Bid Securing Declaration in the format specified in the Bidding Forms
