Strengthening the Productive and Entrepreneurship Capacities of Agro-processing/Agri-business SMEs Associations to integrate into Regional and Continental Value Chains

  1. The Confederation of Business Association of Mozambique-CTA has received financing from the Italian Trust Fund through the African Development Bank, toward the cost of the Strengthening the Productive and Entrepreneurship Capacities of Agro-Processing/Agri-Business SMEs Associations to Integrate into Regional and Continental Value Chains project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract to Improve SME Competitiveness and participation in Regional and Continental Trade, Feasibility Studies and Assessment for improving SME Business Environment and Institutional and Capacity Building of SMEs for Growth ;
  1. The services included under this project are: Plan and conduct the following activities in the three Northern Provinces of Mozambique during a 24-month period : 
  • Capacity Building on Transboundary Trade in Agro-processed Foods and Products for 200 SMEs ;
  • Training of 200 SMEs on Trading under the AfCFTA – Trade Rules, Trade Facilitation, Logistics and required Documentation ;
  • Information Sharing Sessions with SMEs on ISO Certification Requirements and Procedures ;
  • Conduct a Feasibility Study on the Establishment of a Development and Sustainability Fund for SMEs ;
  • Conduct an Assessment on Agri-food E-Trade, Practices, Challenges, and Opportunities in Mozambique ;
  • Conduct Assessment of Quality Infrastructure and Management for SMEs Product Certification, including GS1 Bar Coding ;
  • Conduct Assessment for a National Coordination Partnership/Platform Ecosystem Opportunity that would provide Future Financial and Non-financial Support to Agribusiness SMEs ;
  • Capacity Building of 200 SMEs on Packing and Labelling of Agro-Processed Products for Marketing ;
  • Provide Capacity Building and Coaching of 200 SMEs Representatives on Business Process Engineering, and Entrepreneurship Development, Digital Upskilling ;
  • Training of 200 SMEs on Entrepreneurship Skills Development on ICT and Digital Technologies for E-Commerce in Agri-food Products ;
  • Pilot Digital Transformation Grants for 12 Competitively Selected Youth Agribusinesses/SMEs (50% Women-led), leveraging on the Capacity Building Activities; and
  • Strengthening of the National Network of Youth Agribusinesses/SMEs (Support for Meetings, Networking) through …..
  1. The Confederation of Business Association-CTA now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification ;
  1. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework” dated 2015, which is available on the Bank’s website at http://www.afdb.org ;
