FEASIBILITY STUDIES AND DETAILED DESIGNS FOR INTEGRATED AND SUSTAINABLE URBAN SANITATION IN PROVINCIAL TOWNS AND CITIES

THE REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

 

  1. The Republic of Zambia has received a grant from the African Water Facility which is hosted by the African Development Bank to finance part of the preparation of Feasibility Studies and Detailed Designs for Integrated and Sustainable Urban Sanitation in Provincial Towns and Cities ;
  2. The principal objective of the project overall objective of the project is to contribute to increase access to safe, sustainable and inclusive sanitation services, with improved hygiene and faecal sludge management services for people living in urban and peri-urban areas in Zambia. The specific objectives are to contribute to: (a) increase access to safe, sustainable and inclusive on site sanitation facilities; (b) increase access to efficient and sustainable faecal sludge management infrastructure and services; and (c) create opportunities for increased sub sector investments ;
  3. The project has a number of activities which are grouped into two components, namely :

Component 1 : Feasibility studies and engineering design ;

Component 2 : Project management involves project and knowledge management activities.

  1. Procurement of Works, Goods and Services necessary for the execution of the Program shall be done by the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection, using the relevant procurement procedures including the AFDB’s Rules of Procedures for the Procurement of Goods and Works and the Rules of Procedure for the Procurement of Consultants. Solicitation documentation will be available from April 2020 ;
  2. The procurement arrangements are summarized as follows :
  • Goods contract which will cover the procurement of Motor Vehicle will be procured through Shopping ;
  • Consultancy Services (Feasibility Studies and Engineering Design) shall be procured through Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS).
