JOB TITLE : Partnerships Officer (Donors relations reporting)
TYPE OF CONTRACT : International Consultancy (CST – Level 1)

DURATION : 11 months
Background and purpose of this assignment :
The United Nations World Food Programme is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide. The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. Every day, WFP works worldwide to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry and that the poorest and most vulnerable, particularly women and children, can access the nutritious food they need.
To support all Donor reporting activities and contribute to the establishment and presentation of WFP’s operations to facilitate internal informed and timely decision-making at all levels throughout the organization as well as communication with external partners.
Key accountabilities (not all-inclusive) :
Under the direct supervision of the Partnerships Officer, and the overall guidance of the Country Director, the Partnerships Officer (Donor relations reporting) will perform the following tasks :
- Implement the work plan for assigned area by delivering activities that maintain and develop government partnerships in order to maximise resources raised for the programme ;
- Participate in the preparation of donor-specific reports, with the guidance of the Government Partnerships Officer ;
- Liaise proactively with all the operational units in WFP in N’Djamena and in the field to collect and analyse data for the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on donors and programmes ;
- Provide support as required in the preparation of reporting inputs for humanitarian and development coordination (forum such as the food security cluster) ;
- Coordinate work with other government partnership officers to ensure the flow of information and other WFP units to align activities and ensure donor visibility and that donor conditions are met ;
- Within the assigned team, contribute to ensure that standard procedures and templates are followed to drive the quality, consistency and standardization of information management and reporting across WFP ;
- Attend meetings with the UN and other multilateral bodies, NGOs, member states, taking notes, sharing information, and supporting joint information programmes to increase WFP’s profile, and protect its interests ;
- When needed, provide information to member states, UN agencies, NGOs, host government and other partners on the strategy, design, relevance and impact of programmes, to advocate the work of WFP ;
- Support the staff in the team in all other tasks as required
Qualifications & experience required :
Education : Advanced University degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management or Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences or other relevant field, or First University degree with additional years of related work experience.
Experience : Three years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development.
Knowledge & Skills
- General knowledge of report writing with some understanding of the basic theoretical background ;
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including substantive analysis and report writing skills in English and French ;
- Prior experience with the UN/WFP specific processes and systems would be an advantage ;
- Knowledge of powerpoint, publisher and excel would be an advantage ;
- Attention to details.
Language :
- Fluency (level C) in English language ;
- Intermediate or fluent knowledge of French.

WFP offers a competitive compensation package which will be determined by the contract type and selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
