Duties :
Under the Radio/Telephone Technician’s supervision, the incumbent serves as Telephone/Radio Clerk for the Information Programs Center supporting the telephone and radio programs for all agencies/offices at the U.S. Embassy in N’Djamena, Chad. The incumbent is responsible for supporting for a variety of communication devices, including the issuance and return of telephone and radio devices made available to Embassy staff. This position maintains an accurate inventory of all office telephone and radio assets owned and operated by the Embassy. The incumbent is the primary liaison for the Embassy’s telephone service contracts and for any contracts required for the servicing and maintenance our radio network infrastructure. Work responsibilities also include the monthly processing and reconciliation of vendor invoices, generation of internal call accounting reports for offices.
Qualifications and Evaluations :
- Requirements :
- EXPERIENCE : A minimum of two years of work experience in an office support or technical support role is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE : Fundamental knowledge of digital, analog and mobile communication technologies. Experience with contract administration and customer support. Experience with Asset/Inventory management.

- Completion of Secondary School
- Evaluations : Language: Level III ((good working knowledge) English (written, spoken reading, understanding) is required. – This may be tested. Level IV (fluent) French (written, spoken, reading, understanding) is required. This may be tested.
- Skills and Abilities: Must work both independently and as a team member and be resourceful in funding Solutions. Must possess excellent technical and analytical skills. Must be adaptable to competing demands from customers. Must form effective relationships with all sections/offices to support and aid them in successfully adopting new systems and applications. Basic keyboard skill is required.
