Job Role Summary :

The Tax Advisor receives guidance from Business Services and Controller’s hierarchy and has the following responsibilities :

• Deliver tax assistance or tax advisory services to all of the company’s Business Lines as required ;
• Build relationships and interact with internal clients to provide tax planning and expertise ;
• Manage and coordinate tax audits ;
• Prepare monthly tax returns, including the annual tax return in conjunction with the Accounting Team ;
• Identify and mitigate tax risks ;
• Manage tax compliance process ;
• Perform balance sheet accounts reconciliation ;
• Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.

Work location is Douala, with periodic trips to COTCO sites (Dompta, Belabo, Kribi and offshore), depending on operations requirements.

Expected Level of Proficiency :

• The Candidate must have a master degree in law, taxation or accounting (BAC +5) with proven work experience as a Tax Advisor or Consultant, and excellent knowledge of tax compliance and all types of tax returns ;
• Must be able to speak English and French, with the ability to communicate in English over the phone and via email. Knowledge of SAP Enterprise Accounting System is an added advantage.
