SPECIAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE TRANS-GAMBIA CORRIDOR PROJECT

PAVEMENT STRENGTHENING OF TRANS-GAMBIA HIGHWAY (24 KM)

Context :

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this project that appeared in UNDB online AfDB137-06/12 of 19 June 2012 on-line and on the African Development Bank Group’s Internet Website. (www.afdb.org)
2. The Republic of The Gambia has received grant financing of EUR 16 Million from the European Commission (EU) through the African Development Bank (AfDB) toward the cost of the Trans-Gambia Corridor Project. The Government intends to apply part of the approved amount of this grant for payments under the contract for Road Works – Pavement Strengthening of Trans-Gambia Highway across the bridge on the river Gambia from the northern border town of Keur Ayip-Keur Ali to Southern border town of Senoba-Missera (about 24 km length).
3. The Government through its executing agency National Roads Authority intends to invite Contractors to bid for the Pavement strengthening of The Trans-Gambia Highway. The project sites are located along the Trans-Gambia Corridor (Missera in the Lower River Region LRR) and (Keur Ali North Bank Region NBR) (hereinafter called “the Works”). An Open Competitive Bidding-International process will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Procurement Policy Framework dated October 2015. The works shall comprise the strengthening of the Trans-Gambia Highway (24km) including associated drainage and ancillary works as well as environment and social mitigation measures.
4. 5. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 00 (Two Hundred Euros), in any freely convertible currency or its equivalent in Gambia Dalasi.
6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are the provisions of the African Development Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works.
7. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 2:00pm on 30^th September 2019 and must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount equivalent to EUR 300,000.00, in any freely convertible currency or its equivalent in Gambian Dalasi.
8. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 2:30pm on  30^th  September 2019,  at  the  following  address;  Boardroom,  National Roads Authority, Bertil Harding Highway, Bijilo, The Gambia.
