International Potato Center Position announcement :
Ref. : 2019/002/NRS/MWI/SSA Partner Management Officer The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking to recruit a highly talented Partner Management Officer.
The position : The Partner Management Officer will be based in Lilongwe, Malawi and report to the Project Management Head. This position will assist in managing the vast number of partnerships in Malawi under the new EU/GIZ projects, as well as other projects.
Key Responsibilities :
Implementation and Compliance :
- Aid in partner management in preparing annual work plan and quarterly implementation plans, devise means of achieving outputs while staying within budget constraints ;
- Regions, DCEs, and operations managers and other project partners ;
- Track partners annual budgets and forecast while working with project management to explain variance, and make needed programmatic course corrections if necessary; o Review Partner Status Reports to ensure strong monthly financial oversight; o Supports Project Leaders in matching partner technical and financial reports; o Supports Project Leaders with contractual management, linked to the Grants and Contracts unit.
Monitoring and Reporting :
- Monitor progress against budget ;
- Review partner financial reports and cash flows ;
- Review invoices from project partners, challenge or approve as appropriate ;
- Supports the submission of all Donor required reports with appropriate CIP areas.
Selection Criteria :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or Financial Management, or Operations or related field ;
- At least 6 years of experience required in similar position ;
- Additional certification in Project Management ;
- Proficient in MS Office, especially in Excel ;
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills ;
- Advanced Knowledge in software solutions (ERP) .

Conditions: The position is Nationally Recruited Staff (NRS) position limited to Malawi nationals and permanent residents only.
