Canadian North Inc. recruits a Station Coordinator – Cape Dorset, NU

Responsabilities :

  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System program and demonstrate knowledge of employee responsibilities regarding safety ;
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of Canadian North’s Safety Management System, and subsequently investigate and respond to all reports of incidents and accidents ;
  • Provide leadership to the local Airport and Cargo department, ensuring a focus is on the highest levels of customer service and on-time performance ;
  • Implement and monitor all customer service standards and procedures, including service quality and reliability processes, ensuring the integrity of the Aurora Concierge Services ;
  • Ensure all Customer Service Agents are capable ambassadors of Canadian North Inc. ;
  • Ensure all Customer Service Agents have the knowledge, attitude, and excellent customer service skills necessary for success, while challenging employees to continuously improve on service delivery ;
  • Ensure all Customer Service Agents and contracted handlers are fully briefed and compliant with Transport Canada Regulations and all related training ;
  • Ensure a clean, safe, unobstructed work area is maintained and continuously practice proper safety habits ;
  • Assist in response to customer comments relating to airport issues in a timely and appropriate manner ;
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum one year of operational experience in an airport environment ;
  • Previous experience in a supervisor or managerial role is preferred ;
  • Strong ability to determine performance goals and ability to hold others accountable ;
  • Demonstrate high degree of emotional maturity and ability to operate under stressful situations;
  • Ability to work flexible hours ;
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills ;
  • Excellent planning, time management and organizational skills ;
  • Ability to work in a team environment ;
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment ;
  • Knowledge of WHIMIS and Dangerous Goods Transportation guidelines and procedures considered an asset ;
  • A strong background in PC skills ;
  • Working knowledge of a unionized environment considered an asset ;
  • Knowledge of Sabre considered an asset.
