Plan International seeks to recruit a director-cox’s bazar programme

The Opportunity :
Since August 2017 over 800,000 Rohingya have fled North Rakhine and sought shelter in Bangladesh. Plan International with other members of the humanitarian community has been providing humanitarian assistance. Plan International’s programme works with children and young adults providing education, life-skill training, protection and GVB support.
After the initial 12 month humanitarian focused programming Plan International has now expanded its reach to include long term programming with host communities. The work with host communities being delivered in partnership with local and national NGOs.
The Director Cox’s Bazar Programme will lead and manage all aspects of our work in Cox’s Bazar, spanning the current humanitarian programme with an annual budget of Euro 8 million and growing, and an expanding development programme working with host communities, delivered with national partners.
In this role you will be expected to provide strategic leadership across the programme, to represent Plan International at the Cox’s Bazar level, with the Government, UN agencies, INGOs and national organisations. You will play an active role in supporting advocacy and be Plan International’s spokesperson with visiting donors and media
The Person :
- In-depth knowledge of refugee and nexus programming, ideally with experience in child protection, education and skill development, SRHR and gender transformative and inclusive strategies ;
- Sound understanding of integrated development issues and critical analysis of child and youth poverty ;
- Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and implementation processes ;
- Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Research systems and processes ;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of international donor requirements and contract compliance.
